Brandon Simmons, JD, is the Victim Advocate and Pro Bono Coordinator for the Utah Crime Victims Legal Clinic. He coordinates the intake process for the Legal Clinic, supervises legal interns, trains peace officers and advocates, and assists and supports crime victims through the criminal justice process. Brandon educates victims about the criminal justice process, assists them with reparations and restitution claims, and connects them with referrals and resources. He also represents crime victims seeking protective orders or stalking injunctions.
Brandon received a bachelor’s degree in interpersonal communication from the University of Utah. He worked with at-risk students for about five years at an elementary school. During law school, he worked with child victims at the Utah Office of Guardian ad Litem and the Children’s Law Center of Los Angeles. He received a law degree from Brigham Young University, and has been with the Utah Crime Victims Legal Clinic for about two years.
