Out of Slavery:
Identifying and Working with Victims of Human Trafficking

Katie Resendiz, M.A., Keli Luther, J.D. & Chris Aamondt. M.S.W.
Saturday, May 31 at 3:15 pm

This workshop will focus on the challenges and processes of working with victims of human trafficking. These victims exist in a world of captivity, manipulation, and extreme trauma. Those working in the victims’ rights field can be instrumental in the movement from victimhood to survivorhood. The workshop will include a brief overview of modern-day slavery, including the scope of the crime in the U.S., legislation in place to combat it, and the services available to victims. An exploration of the victims’ experiences will lead into the protocol development for identifying and working with victims of human trafficking.
