This workshop will discuss the impact of the media on litigation of high-profile national media cases. Specifically, Mr. Clune will address how the “court of public opinion” can impact witness statements, witness lists, judges, prosecutors, appellate courts, and most importantly, the victim. Using the Kobe Bryant and Duke University sex assault cases as examples, this workshop will examine the media’s influence on the outcome of the cases and what lessons can be learned for the next national media case.
