As a former prosecuting attorney, Veraunda invites you and your professionals to join her in a candid conversation about the impact of communication with victims of sex crimes. As the government continues to focus on reporting numbers for funding and tracking cases for prosecution, Veraunda is determined to keep the victims at the “heart” of the matter!
Veraunda spent five years as a prosecuting attorney in Orlando, Florida. She prosecuted major crimes including domestic violence, robberies, drug cases, gangs, juvenile crimes, in addition to aggravated batteries and assaults. Her last assignment was in the specialized unit of Sex Crimes and Child Abuse. She is proud of her ability to make a difference in the lives of adult and child victims who had been violated both physically and mentally. No one in her office knew she had a secret that made her very effective when dealing with victims of all ages….she was a victim of a rape at the age of sixteen… “But when she tried to tell…no one believed her!”
A graduate of Florida State University College of Law, Veraunda shares her legal knowledge as the primary legal instructor for the Criminal Justice Institute at Valencia Community College where she teaches law enforcement and correction officers.
Witnessing first hand that people are overwhelmed, frustrated and struggling for personal fulfillment, Veraunda realized it was time to take her contagious blend of courage and determination to people around the country. She is the author of a motivational book entitled, “Everything has A Price!” Her message is simple, yet powerful: “If you have the strength to survive, you have the power to succeed!” She knows based on her own success, your vision can become a reality. In her second book, Veraunda makes another resounding statement, “You Don’t Have To Settle!”
