How to Prevent "Pulling the Plug":
Applying the Psychology of Re-victimization
to Increase Success in the Criminal Case

Sheri Vanino, Psy.D.
Friday, May 30 at 1:30 pm

This workshop will take an advanced look at the psychological impact of the criminal justice system on victims of violence. Participants will focus on what victims need to heal from trauma, and compare and contrast it with what victims experience in the system. Active ways that victims’ rights attorneys and advocates can work with victims of violence to engage them while decreasing re-victimization will be discussed. The workshop will be interactive and apply trauma theory to actual legal cases involving victims’ rights attorneys.
