Cynthia Fraser

Technology Abuse: Protecting Victim Safety, Privacy, and Confidentiality

Cynthia Fraser is a Technology Safety Specialist with Safety Net: the National Safe & Strategic Technology Project of the National Network to End Domestic Violence. Ms. Fraser provides training and technical assistance that addresses how technology impacts survivors of stalking, domestic and sexual violence. During 18 years working in Canadian and American systems, Ms. Fraser has staffed hotlines and shelters, accompanied survivors through court and social services, trained multidisciplinary groups, and worked in such national organizations as the U.S. Institute for Women's Policy Research and the National Resource Center on Domestic Violence. Ms. Fraser uses her experience with surveillance, information, communication and assistive technologies to build capacity and promote policy and practice that prioritizes the safety, accessibility, and privacy rights for all survivors of violence.
